I'd like to remark that there's an appreciable new feature that differentiates the design of these Fila Skeletoes
from the regular FiveFingers
The shape in which the Skeletoes
sole has been molded can offer a clear advantage to regular barefoot runners/walkers or while advancing in their barefoot transition:
The big toe pocket is much more separated from the rest of the toes, closer to the shape of a foot perfectly adapted to walk/run barefoot.
Many of you have probably noticed such difference, for those willing to verify my claim I'd suggest to watch some of the initial scenes (most explicit from 1:48 to 2:48) of one of the two videos uploaded in YouTube of the Navi Mumbai Barefoot Half Marathon
race organized by the Barefoot Runners of India Foundation
From 2:16 to 2:48

Most runners are still kids, and yet most of them if not all (both kids and adults) have their big toes clearly dealigned from the rest in an open angle, more than in the shape given in this new Fila model.
I believe wearing shoes that holds your toes in the position that your toes had developed in the case you didn't wear shoes may actually help redress your toes to a more natural position at an early stage of mild toe deformities and still flexible joints. Furthermore, a certain level of stiffness in the sole at that point by reinforcing the sole rubber between the first and second digit could actually promote the relocation of the big toe to its "original" position in a similar way an orthopedic device corrects the shape of your body.
I encourage Vibram to develop new lasts and sole molds with modified shapes to fit the natural barefoot position of the toes to help recover the original function of your feet during your transition. This feature would also be of value among regular barefoot walkers/runners who have retain the toes misalignments caused by a previous long period of wearing shoes.
I'm uploading a pair of orthopedic devices I've been wearing every night for about a month (bunion night splints). Unfortunately, I can't wear any similar device in any of my FiveFingers
Wouldn't be a nice addition if my shoes also helped my big toes to become realigned during the day?
